DEPARTURE FOR GHANA
DAY 1 ARRIVAL - AKWAABA
On arrival you will be met at the Kotoka International Airport and assisted by Future Impressions Protocol Officers and Tour Guides. Transfer to hotel for orientation. Overnight at hotel, Accra.
DAY 2 ACCRA CITY TOUR
Visit interesting sites in Accra, Ghana's capital city since 1877 with a populations of over 3.5 million. Our first attraction is the W.E.B Du Bois located at Cantonments has a photo library, a museum and his tomb.
Next, visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park - the final resting place of Osagyefo Dr.6 Kwame Nkrumah who led the C.P.P to fight and win independence for Ghana. This monument comprises a photo library, museum and his tomb. A guided tour of these attractions reveals works of these two great Pan Africanists. Spend rest of the afternoon shopping at the Arts Center - an open air market with 6a variety of Ghanaian / African6 crafts e.g wood carvings , textile , leather ware etc. Overnight at hotel, Accra.
DAY 3 CHURCH SERVICE / CAPE COAST
We join our brothers and sisters at a community Pentecostal Church to worship our Creator through Jesus Christ His Son. Learn a few new Twi Praise Songs . We depart Accra later in the afternoon and travel westwards through historic Fanti settlements to Cape Coast. Overnight at Cape Coast
DAY 4 HERITAGE TOUR
We visit Kakum National Park , a typical tropical rain forest rich in rare species of Medicinal plants and trees. Choose between embarking on an hour Kenton trail or the Strenuous adventures 60 meter canopy walkway which gives the visitor a bird's eye view Of the forest .
Next we visit the St. George's Castle , Elmina constructed by the Portuguese in 1482 . The building reputed to be the first of its kind in tropical Africa has served several purposes including slave trading. Overnight at hotel, Cape Coast
DAY 5 CAPE COAST - KUMASI
Visit the Cape Coast Castle , originally a Swedish fort ( Carolousburg) which was later Extended to its present status by the British in 1665. Attractions here include a film show, Museum , souvenir shop , slave dungeons and condemned cells .
A guided tour of the building which used to be the seat of British government (1874-1877) reveals the evils of slavery. We depart Cape Coast and head north driving through a former slave route to the garden city of Kumasi, the 297 year old capital of the Ashanti Empire which is also referred to as Ghana's cultural capital. DAY 6 KUMASI CITY TOUR
A visit to the Cultural Center is the appropriate introduction to Ashanti . Attractions here include Prempeh II Jubilee Museum , a model cocoa farm and a model Ashanti village. Next ,we shall visit the Manhyia Palace Museum located in the home of past and present kings .
This royal museum offers the visitor an opportunity to study (in depth) the chieftancy history of the Ashanti Empire. After this we take a short city drive through Kumasi . Spotting among others the Kumasi Central market -the biggest open market in West Africa . Overnight at hotel, Kumasi.
DAY 7 CRAFT VILLAGES
Visit the following craft villages , each of which specializes in one type of craft:
1. AHWIAA- This is a wood carving village , the home of Akuaba (fertility ) doll , Ashanti royal stools, wall hangings etc.
